Project Statuses
Project statuses are simple labels that help you recognise where a project stands. They are meant to support your overview, not to enforce a rigid writing method.
You can use statuses heavily, lightly, or not at all. A project without a status is still a normal project.
No status
Use no status when the project does not need a label yet, or when you prefer to keep the overview as plain as possible.
Draft
Use Draft for work that is still being written for the first time. This can include early fragments, rough chapters, poems, scenes, essays, or any material that is still taking shape.
Paused
Use Paused when a project is not abandoned, but also not actively being worked on. This is useful for work you intend to return to later.
Finished
Use Finished when the writing itself is complete enough for your purposes. A finished project may still be exported, archived, backed up, or published later.
Using statuses without too much organising
Statuses are most helpful when they make the projects overview easier to read. If you find yourself adjusting them more than writing, keep them simple. A few clear labels are usually better than a perfect system.
