The Project Switcher

The project switcher lets you move from one project to another without returning to the full projects overview first. It is useful when you are working across several active projects and want a quick way to jump between them.

Switching to another project

Open the project switcher from the project sidebar header and choose the project you want to open. Spleen leaves the current project and opens the selected one in the writing workspace.

The switcher is the chevron button beside Back to projects in the project sidebar header. It appears only when there is more than one active project available. Before switching projects, Spleen tries to save any recent changes. It switches only after that check succeeds.

Projects in the switcher

The switcher lists all active projects you can access, sorted by title. Archived projects are not included. The current project is marked with a check, and longer lists can be scrolled.

Searching for a project

Open the switcher and type in search projects to narrow the list by project title. Choose a matching project to open it, or clear the field to show the full list again. If no project title matches your search, the switcher shows No matches.

Recognising the current project

The current project is marked with a check so you can see where you are before switching. This is especially useful when project names are similar.

When to use the projects overview instead

Use the projects overview when you want to manage several projects, change view modes, use bulk actions, import work, or browse the full project shelf. Use the project switcher when you want to open another active project quickly, including when you need to search for it by title.
