Focus While Writing

Spleen keeps the editor quiet by default, but different writers focus in different ways. Focus and distraction controls let you decide how much support the editor should show while you write.

Highlight current paragraph

Highlighting the current paragraph can make it easier to stay oriented in a longer document. The effect should be subtle: a small visual cue, not a bright marker competing with the text.

Editor focus settings

Editor focus settings belong with the writing experience rather than project management. The current control in Preferences → Editor settings is Highlight current paragraph. Turn it on when you want Spleen to add a subtle visual cue around the paragraph where the cursor is active.

Keeping the writing area calm

The point of these controls is not to gamify writing or turn the editor into a dashboard. They exist to make the writing surface feel more comfortable during long sessions.

Choosing what stays visible

If you want the quietest possible workspace, combine focus settings with Zen Mode. Use the normal workspace again when you need the sidebar, context panel, project search, or export controls.
